Djet V coupé   "S"
Djet V coupé Luxe   "S" – Paris (October)

France

Intensywna kampania reklamowa przynosi spodziewane efekty.
Do oferty dołączy zaprezentowany w Paryżu model Djet V Luxe z pełnej szerokości zderzakiem przednim i nową deską rozdzielczą.

An intensive advertising campaign brings the expected results. This year, sales rose from 28 to 365 cars. In April a brand new Matra was given to Yuri Gagarin, in recognition of his merits in the conquest of space. Gagarin was the first man who flew into space, and the choice was not accidental. Space technologies are one of the areas of Matra's business and Djet made headlines on both sides of the "Iron Curtain".
Until October, the nose of the car still carried the René Bonnet logo, but the models for the next year will have the Matra-Sports trademark. The next year range will be joined by the Djet V Luxe model with a full-width front bumper and a new dashboard.

Djet "C"

Type 610 coupé 4-cyl. 1558 cm³ 145 cv

At the end of the year sports department prepared the prototype Type 610, designed specially for the Tour de Corse (Corsica Rallye). It gained the nickname 'Napoleon'. Under the regular looking Djet body there is a multitubular frame and a powerful Ford-Lotus 4-cylinder engine with two over-head camshafts, prepared by Cosworth. In the standard version it gives a staggering 145 bhp with the possibility of increasing the power for race events. The suspension and the light-alloy wheels has been adopted from Matra's Formula 3 car. Increased track required remoulding the body, making id wider and lower. The height of the standard car is 120 cm and the prototype measures only 109 cm. Unfortunately the team run out of time and the car was not ready for the rally, thus the project was abandoned.
