Vanden Plas 1500
The ultimate in gracious motoring.
The name Vanden Plas is known and respected throughout the world. Generations of prestigious limousines and grand touring cars have been coach-built by this famous British company and the name has become synonymous with quality and British craftsmanship.
The matching of a compact, elegant Allegro body with a sumptuous Vanden Plas interior is a bold yet eminently practical concept. Here is a motorcar which is confidently at home in the most gracious surroundings. It offers superb long distance touring comfort in the grand manner. Yet its remarkably compact exterior makes for delightfully easy handling in heavy traffic or along narrow lanes.
Perhaps best of all, the relatively high initial cost of the Vanden Plas 1500 (quality commands its own price) is soon offset by the surprisingly low running and maintenance costs inherent in the Allegro's technical design.
One glance into the interior of the Vanden Plas 1500 tells you that the art of the coachbuilder is still very much alive. Those close-fitting tailored carpets are laid on felt to provide extra soundproofing. Seats are upholstered in knit-backed expanded vinyl, with fluted high quality hide wearing surfaces. They look superbly comfortable — and they are. The handsome walnut finish of the fascia is carried through to door cappings and to the useful picnic tables built into the backs of the front seats. Quality all the way; that's the inside story of the Vanden Plas 1500.
