Production continues to rise at TVR's modest Blackpool factory where manufacture is now concentrated on the three-litre V6-engined cars. The 3000 series have Ford Capri / Granada-type engines, a separate steel tube chassis, and all-independent suspension. New for the London Motor Show is the `ML', basically a 3000M with a new lift-up rear window panel for easy baggage loading, a luxurious interior, and a lift-off roof for an open-car effect. With power and style, the latest TVRs are genuine Grand Touring cars. Export figures have risen 41 per cent in the last year.
