Standard 12 HP Light Utility (1942) use the front end sheet metal and the transverse-leaf independent front suspension of the civilian 12 HP Saloon. There is also a 10-cwt Van on this chassis.
Standard 12 HP Light Utility produced for the British Army have a rigid front axle with longitudinal leaf springs and a wire-mesh radiator grille. The Standard have a military pattern cab, unlike the Austin and Hillman Light Utilities.
The Beaverette production was stopped in 1942. About 2,800 units were delivered.
