ONE of America's greatest makes, the Plymouth division of Chrysler produces a vast selection of cars. Valiant has six-cylinder engines of 2.8- or 3.7-litres or V8s of 4.5-litres. Barracuda is a fast sports hardtop with disc front brakes. The rest would fill pages of this review, up to the prestige-and-performance Fury V8 of over 7-litres. The accent is on new safety features for 1967.
ORIGINALLY one of the "compact" Americans, the Valiant now has a long lean line like the larger Plymouths. Modifications to chassis and interior reflect the growing American preoccupation with safety. The Valiant range includes saloons, station wagons, convertibles and Coupés with engines ranging from 2.8-litre six to 4.5-litre V8. Transmission options include three- or four-speed gearbox, auto transmission, self-locking differential. (Six-cyl.; o.h.v.; 2,789 c.c.; 100 b.h.p.)
