MORGAN 4/4 1600
Looking virtually identical in two-seater form to the V8-engined Plus 8, the 4/4 1600 is also available as a four-seat sports tourer. Both models are powered by the 1599 cc Ford Cortina engine, and have close-ratio gearboxes. The 4/4 is for the man who wants a fast fun car in the vintage tradition, but with a lower purchase price and running costs than the Plus 8. Bodywork is coachbuilt on a wood frame, and there are no namby-pamby things like windup windows! The windscreen folds flat in 'twenties style, and Morgan motoring it both zestful and nostalgic. Hand made and fully road tested before delivery, each Morgan is built to individual order. Wire wheels, leather upholstery, tubular luggage carrier, are among the extras.

MORGAN PLUS 8
This intriguing mixture of vintage and modem uses a simple coachbuilt open two-seater body (sidescreens, not wind-up windows!) on a separate chassis frame, powered by the powerful and flexible Rover V8 engine. Performance is breathtaking, and enthusiasts for 'real cars' queue-up to buy the Plus 8. The wider track introduced last year improved road holding and wheel adhesion and gave a tighter turning circle. Wheels are cast aluminium. The steering wheel is leather-covered alloy on a collapsible column. Extras include leather upholstery, reversing lights, rear bumper. For 1976 the tiny little Worcestershire works is also introducing an extra-performance lightweight version with aluminium body panels, 14in. wheels in place of 15in., and so on. All Morgans have the same type of independent front suspension pioneered by the famous old three-wheelers.
