2.5 Litre model in 1971 only, has 150 bhp 2498cc Triumph TR6 fuel injected engine, giving 125 mph top speed.

Production ceased end of 1971, with the firms demise. Marcos goes out of business in 1971, and is bought by Rob Walker who re introduces it as the Mini-Marcos MkIV with new floor pan and opening rear hatch.

Although the chassis and running gear were quite competently engineered, assembled, and put on sale, the body shape was very strange indeed. Accordingly, because the Mantis was marketed at such a high price - at £3185 it cost nearly £500 more than the Jaguar E-Type 2+2 - it struggled to build up a clientele.
