Despite the release of the X6 MkII version mid-year, sales slumped by one third compared to the previous year due to the emerging quality issues which the MkII sought to correct. Only 4,367 sold. Production ceased in December.
The Marina was launched in Australia in April with Morris badges on the back, and when production began in Sydney early in 1972. Unlike it's English brother it is powered by 1.5 and 1.75 litre OHC E-series engines.
