Assembly of the first series of Italy-built Austin A40 ended in January. 10.213 of Berlina and 6.444 of Combinata were built. Series 2 featured the same improvements as it's British brother, however in December new A40S was launched with bigger 1098cc engine, redesigned front and full size, one-piece tail gate in estate version Combinata.
