Contessa 1300

Contessa 1300 Coupé

JAPANESE countess with strong Italian accent. Michelotti did the styling for this smart, compact four-door saloon which has rear engine, all-synchromesh four speed gearbox. Also seen in its two-door Coupé form with twin-carburetter engine tuned to give 65 b.h.p. It's not surprising that Hino's mechanical layout recalls rear-engined Renaults. They used to make them under licence. But the design is strictly Hino's own.
