The 20M is one of a wide range of rather attractive big motor cars being produced by the German end of the Ford family. The permutations are almost daunting-but at the top of the range comes the XL Hardtop, a roomy two-door car powered either by a 2 litre or a 2.6 litre engine, the latter developing 142 b.h.p. There are two other engine sizes, 2.3 and 1.8 litre (all of them are V-6 incidentally) which also appear as power plants for the saloons and estate cars that make up the rest of the range. They are big, reliable cars, mechanically very conventional.
