Fiat 1100/103 został zaprezentowany w Genewie. Na rynku włoskim sedan dostępny jest w dwóch wersjach: uboższej "A" kosztującej 945000 lirów i bardziel luksusowej "B", za która trzeba zapłacić 975000 lirów. Przed końcem roku dołączyły do nich wersje kombi Familiare i od października (salon w Paryżu) 103 TV (Turismo Veloce) ze wzmocnionym silnikiem i bogatszym wyposażeniem.
Poprzednik "Cento Mille Nuova" wytwarzany od 1937 roku powstał w 228 tysiącach egzemplarzy.
Pierwszy osobowy diesel został zaprezentowany w Turynie. Nadwozie jest identyczne z modelem 1400.
W Hiszpanii rozpoczęto licencyjną produkcję modelu 1400.
"Otto vu" (8V) przeszedł w tym roku modernizację. Zmieniono kształt wlotu powietrza i zastosowano poczwórne reflektory.

The Fiat 1100 is a four-door, four-light saloon with a conventional body-cum-chassis construction, and with an engine which very closely resembles the 1,100-c.c., four-cylinder model introduced 15 years ago. The engine and gearbox units are mounted in two parallel box section members which extend forwards from the scuttle and which support the wishbone suspension system in which the coil springs embrace the direct-acting dampers. The engine is mounted very well forward in the frame so that four people can comfortably be seated within an overall length of 12 ft. 4½ in. The trackrods actually pass behind the engine and their inner ends are connected to a vertical pivot with a horizontal arm running across to a steering box in which the rocker shaft is nearly vertical with a drop arm lying backwards at a nearly horizontal angle. Using light alloys for the cylinder head and the brake drums as well as for the pistons, the Fiat 1100 is designed to be a four-seater car with a really effective performance and low fuel consumption.
