FERRARI 365 GT4 2+2   £12,961
Considered by many motoring connoisseurs to be the world's most desirable car, the 12-cylinder 365GT/4 exudes quality and character. Its 4.4-litre four-overhead camshaft engine is mounted at the front from whence it drives the rear wheels in the classic manner. With 340 b.h.p. (DIN) and a lightning five-speed gearbox (mounted on the differential at the rear of the car) its acceleration is shattering, and top speed is about 165 m.p.h. The Pininfarina 2+2 bodywork is highly aerodynamic and the trim and equipment sumptuous. The Ferrari car factory in Modena is Fiat-owned.

London report

Ferrari have been manufacturing limited production 12 cylinder engines of various capacity since 1946 and their range of thoroughbred gran turismo cars incorporates the direct experiences of 28 years of unequalled racing successes.

The third series, produced in early 1973, were visually very similar to the series II cars, but had steel doors, with only the bonnet and boot lid in aluminium. They received carefully built and balanced engines to racing standards, and some performance details were enhanced by the homologation of special parts over the period of production.
