France

Despite the difficult post-war conditions that do not favor luxury automakers, Delahaye has resumed the manufacture of its 3.5-litre Type 135 for which a few hundred orders have been placed by the autumn of last year. Due to the shortage of raw materials, Delahaye is barely able to meet those demands. As a result, the manufacture of 148 L sedans has been limited and the production of the 134 stopped.
A perfect example of fine construction technique is the Delahaye. This is a low-slung, cream colored, streamlined four-passenger Coupé with a custom-built body by the famous Continental coach-building firm of Figoni and Falaschi. Features of the Delahaye not often found on American cars are: push-button door opening, carefully tailored leather upholstery, chromium-plated engine accessories, Cotal electric gear box, and a complete set of engine instruments on the dashboard. Capable of 97 m.p.h., this car is by no means the fastest model built by Delahaye, as this French firm has had many years experience in the building of Grand Prix racing cars as well as pleasure cars, and has earned a fine reputation in both these fields.

Charles Pozzi in GP Pau.
For the 1947 season Delahaye prepared three pre-war 135s with new bodies and entrusted them to Charles Pozzi, Georges Grignard and Eugene Chaboud. Along them a few private cars also made appearances in various events.
