Most of the new Delage range employs a very successful series of engines derived from a six-cylinder ohv unit developed by Delahaye. The new 8-cylinder engine used in the D8 models has nothing in common with the 3.6 litre mounted in the Delage D8-85 previous year. This is now a 4.3-liter Delahaye unit with 80 mm bore and 107 mm stroke.
In the autumn Delage introduced a whole new range of the 6-cylinder models. Some of the smaller cars use Citroën body shells.

Prototypes

This special D6-70 Grand Sport aerodynamic coupe by Figoni & Falaschi on a short chassis supplied by Delahaye appeared in the spring. It was prepared by Louis Delage himself for the 1936 Le Mans 24 Hours. Unfortunately, since the Le Mans event was canceled because of the strikes it only entered elegance contests in the summer season where it clinched many awards and made an excellent publicity to the revived brand Delage. Based on a 270 cm wheelbase chassis, this 1,150 kg prototype is fitted with a 6-cylinder, 3-litre, bronze-cylinder engine based on the 83.7 mm D6-70 S unit. It is pushed to the limit with displacement of 2 984 cm³, fitted with three Solex carburettors. The power is close to 120 bhp at 4,500 rpm and the maximum speed exceeds 185 km / h.
