W latach 1942-43 Deutsch i Bonnet skonstruowali nowe podwozie DB 3, które posłużyło jako baza dla tegorocznych modeli. DB 4 z silnikiem 1490 cm³ z aluminiową głowicą gotowy był już w lipcu. In 1942-43 Deutsch and Bonnet developed a new chassis DB 3, which served as the basis for this year's models. The DB 4 with 1490 cc engine with aluminium head was ready in July. Two months later they completed the DB 5 driven by a two-litre Citroën unit. The design of both cars is based on a central tubular frame.
