DATSUN 100A CHERRY From £939
With transverse engine and front wheel drive the saucy little Cherry has been designed to gain as much space for occupants as possible. The internal space is surprising for a car no more than 12ft. in length, and the Cherry is available as a two or four-door saloon. There is also a three-door estate version. Suspension is all-independent to ensure a good ride for such a light car, and the 988 c.c. engine has overhead valves and a light-alloy cylinder head to provide pep. Front seats have high backs to act as head restraints in an accident. There is also a 1171 c.c. Cherry de Luxe Coupé.

DATSUN 120Y From £955
The big Japanese manufacturer is now in second place amongst foreign imports, and the 120Y, first announced in Japan last April, replaces the popular Sunny model. The 120Y uses most of the mechanical elements of the old Sunny model but wheelbase is longer and the overall length is five inches greater. As with the older Sunny 1200, the 120Y is offered as two or four-door saloon, two-door coupe, or as five-door estate. All models have through-flow ventilation, two-speed wipers, electric screenwash, and lockable fuel fillers. Disc front brakes are . standard on British imports.

DATSUN 180 BLUEBIRD From £1,475
The 1.8-litre Datsun range includes a four-door saloon, two-door high performance coupe, and a five-door estate. All models are powered by a front-mounted four-cylinder overhead camshaft engine, but the saloon and estate have lower compression ratios and slightly less power. All three models are lavishly-equipped, the standard specification including radio, electric clock, radial tyres reclining front seats, adjustable headrestraints, tinted safety glass allround, and heated rear window. The 115 b.h.p. (SAE) SSS Coupe will exceed 100 m.p.h.

DATSUN 240K SKYLINE £1,997
Datsun's new 240K is for the man or woman who likes style and performance, but finds the 240Z too small, and the 260C too big. The latest in the Skyline family is a roomy GT saloon with four wide-opening doors, every kind of internal comfort, yet a sports car performance from its 130 b.h.p. (SAE) six-cylinder overhead camshaft engine. The in-line engine is inclined to maintain a low bonnet line, and the body work is slightly wedge-shaped to promote aerodynamic down-pressure at high speed. Front seats recline and there are masses of instruments for the enthusiast.
