This 95 m.p.h.-plus coupé is powered by a specially-tuned Chrysler lmp engine mounted behind the seats. Produced in a small but modern factory at Washington in County Durham, the Clan is gaining popularity and sales, due to its well-engineered construction, and success in the competition field. Its construction is noteworthy in that it is the only plastic monocoque car in production today. Suspension is all-independent, and this feature plus the balanced weight distribution due in no small measure to the light-alloy overhead camshaft engine, makes the handling delightful.
