W 2 CV zmieniono tablicę rozdzielczą, pochodzącą z Ami 6 i zewnętrzne klamki w drzwiach.
W październiku modernizacja nadwozia DS zaprezentowana w Paryżu. Zmieniony przód z czterema reflektorami osłoniętymi przezroczystymi panelami, z których wewnętrzne sprzężone są z układem kierowniczym a zewnętrzne z elementami przedniego zawieszenia. Umożliwia to równomierne oświetlenie drogi na zakrętach, a także podczas przyspieszania i hamowania.
Moc silnika obu wersji Ami 6 zwiększono do 28 KM. Powstały 34.344 sedany i 135.046 kombi.
Zaprezentowany w Paryżu Dyane pomyślany jest jako konkurencja dla Renault R4 i następca 2 CV, z którego przeniesiono podwozie i silnik wzmocniony do 21 KM. Przy konstrukcji i stylizacji nadwozia pracowali specjaliści z należącego do Citroëna Panharda.
The new DS/ID models for 1968 were first shown at the Paris Motor Show. The front end is even more sleek than before and gained four headlights, two of which are connected to the steering and the other two to the suspension. This gives the lights self levelling and better road illumination when cornering.
Also presented for the fist time in Paris the Dyane is intended as competition to the Renault 4 and also a successor to the famous 2CV. Like the Ami it is built on the 2CV chassis with the same 425 cm³ engine with power increased to 21 b.h.p. The body was designed by engineers from Panhard.

For 1967 the range remains unchanged. The two-engined 4x4 was discontinued in December last year. The AZL still has canvas-covered boot, replaced with metal lid on the AZLP. The AZAM offers most comprehensive equipment with hubcaps, elaborated overrides, steering wheel and seats from the Ami. The ultimate version, the AZAM Export was produced only from April to July. It had rectangular front indicators and large hubcaps and Ami-like dashboard. The Mixte with large rear gate and spare wheel placed under the bonnet is now a version of the AZAM.
Options on all models includes windscreen washer and exterior mirror.
With the introduction of the Dyane, the 2CV range was reduced to only one model AZL. It has metal boot lid, the canvas is no longer available. Enac still builts the Mixte with large rear gate.
AZU and AK vans gained the 602 cc engine.

For 1967 the Ami-6 has a new grille with three horizontal bars and an air intake under the windscreen. The electrical system is now 12v instead of 6v and gained an alternator in place of a dynamo. Finally the highly criticised noise problem has been addressed. Soundproofing mats are fitted to the bonnet, bulkhead and floor and a new air filter is fitted. A new dashboard with top in black plastic has bigger air vents, making it look more elegant. In addition a “very cold” gasoline heating system (580 F), windscreen washer (20 F), anti-theft device (60 F), separate front seats (48 F) are available as an option. The exterior mirros is fitted as a standard on all the estate models and optional on the saloons.
Engine power increased in October. Double-sliding front door windows. Optional canvas roof on the saloon. The more luxurious estate 'Club' with dual headlights, white plastic Gala wheel trims and decorative side flashes. Interior is more refined, sporting a carpet on the floor, front seats with reclining backs, better upholstery, storage compartments on the side of the front seats, DS type interior door handles, felt mat in the boot, etc.

1967 ID models are powered by the five-bearing, 2-litre engine adopted from the DS-19. A new gearbox gives better acceleration. Braking system is also off the DS. As an option on all models there is a fully independent, gasoline heater witch automatically maintain temperature inside the cabin. Another interesting option is the hight adjustment for the front seats.

A radically new apperance with four headlights that are automatically adjust for the height and turn with the steering. They are standard on the Pallas, Prestige and cabriolet and optional on other models with power steering (200 F).
All models have now alternator rather than dynamo.

While keeping the character of the 2 CV, the Dyane is distinguished by its clean and modern lines, its headlights with square bezels embedded in the wings and its flat hood with ribs ending on a trapezoidal grille.
It comes in two trims: the very basic Luxe and the more lush Confort.
The Luxe has thin seat upholstery streached over simple tubular frames, the seats are not adjustable, the 2CV-like steering wheel and completely flat door cards. On the outside, the only noticable differece in the lack of hubcaps.
The Confort has the spare wheel under the bonnet, different ait filter and constant velocity joints. On the outside the wheel hubcaps are standard but the little rear light protectors are optional extra, as well as foot operated windscreen washer, anti-theft device, separate front seats or petrol, independent heating for very cold weather. Inside one can find more pleasing steering wheel, thicker upholstery on the seats and door cards shaped to serve as armrests and storage compartments.

In San Remo Rally of the Flowers on February 23, (Ogier and Mlle Pointet finished 6th, then at Lyon-Charbonnières on March 19 Neyret and Terramorsi 5th overall.
In Coupe des Alpes on September 9 Neyret and Terramorsi finished at Day 7th.
Only one absolute victory this year was won by Neyret and Terramorsi in the 14th Critérium Neige et Glace disputed on 18 and 19 February on fearsome little snow-covered roads in the Alps, with six special speed events.
