Like most of the big Americans, Buick's Riviera coupe has had a slimming cure for 1977 - about six inches off the wheelbase and five off the length, while weight is cut by over 15 per cent. But rear headroom and legroom are increased. The trunk is bigger too. The Americans are taking the first steps towards using space effectively. The Le Sabre saloon is 10 in. shorter and 625 lb. lighter but has more useful space.
