The Bristol 403 and 404 (including a Drophead body styled by Abbott) were discontinued in October 1955. 300 examples of the 403 were built.
Bristol 405 Saloon is the first four-door model produced by the Bristol company. It is similar to the 404 at the front but considerably longer (15 ft 9 ¼ in v. 14 ft 3 ¼ in), giving comfortable seating for four people curved front and rear screens and opening boot. It is powered by a 1971-cc engine which develop 105 bhp at 5000 rpm. A Drophead Coupé version with coachwork by Abbott of Farnham is also available.
