The Bricklin is having a very difficult start. January saw 429 cars made but due to short supply of engines the next month's production came to stop. A new power unit from Ford solved the problem but the price rocketed up to $9980. There is also a big problem with the quality of the plastic bodies. In September the company went into recievership.
2062 cars were produced this year.
