Armstrong Siddeley started post-war production in November 1945 with the 16 HP Lancaster Saloon and Hurricane Drophead Coupé. Both models has a 1991 -cc (65 x 100 mm) 70-bhp OHV power unit. Wheelbase is 9 ft 7 in, tyre size 5.50-17. Pre-production Lancaster and Hurricane cars had made their debut as early as May 1945-during the same week as VE Day (Victory in Europe).
Lancaster body is a graceful four seater, six light four door saloon, with a traditional coach built ash frame body. Interior is plush with leather trim and wood veneers. Substantial channel section chassis, have torsion bar ifs and hydro mechanical brakes. Wheel base is 9'7''. Engine is 70 bhp 1991cc six driving through a Wilson preselector gearbox or optional all synchro box from Rootes Group. Hurricane is a two door drop head version mechanically identical to Lancaster.
