The Alfetta 2000 version, replaced the 2000 Berlina. The 2000 Berlina was produced in 89,840 examples, of which 2.200 units were fitted with automatic gearboxes.

The Alfasud ti 1.3 with the 1286 cc engine from the Alfasud Sprint was put on sale alongside the "ti" 1.2 in July.
In late 1977 the Alfasud Super replaced the range topping four-door "5m". It is available with both the 1.2- and 1.3-litre engines from the "ti", though both equipped with a single-choke carburettor. The Super is improved both outside, with new bumpers including large plastic strips, and inside, with a revised dashboard, new door cards and two-tone cloth seats. Similar upgrades are applied to the Giardinetta.

Launched at the March Geneva Motor Show the Alfetta 2000 replaces the outgoing Alfa Romeo 2000. This range-topping Alfetta is 10.5 cm longer than the other models, owing to a redesigned front end with square headlights and to larger bumpers with polyurethane inserts. The rectangular tail light clusters and C-pillar vents are also different. Inside there is a new dashboard, steering wheel and upholstery materials.

The Giulietta was launched in November. Two models are available: Giulietta 1.3, with an oversquare 95 bhp 1357 cc engine, and Giulietta 1.6, with a 109 bhp 1570 cc engine, both Alfa Romeo Twin Cam inline-fours fed by two twin-choke carburettors.
