Design of machines for manufacturing the first post-was Russian car began in 1943, even during the war. In September 20, 1944 the design was approved by the Government, and a year later, in August 1945, ZIS was already assembling the first batch. In just 10 months the factory complied with the necessary drawings, has developed technology and prepared the necessary tooling and equipment.
