Turner A30

 

Bodywork of the recently announced Turner A30 Sports car is supplied by Hill's Fibreglass Developments, Ltd in Wolverhampton. An open sheeet steel body frame supports a skin of Celloband Polyester Resin reinforced with glass fibre. The engine, gearbox, front suspension and rear axle are standard Austin A30 components and rack and pinion steering is fitted. The chassis is built up from 3in diameter steel tubes and the rear suspension incorporates trailing links and laminated torsion bars. A maximum speed of 80 m.p.h. and a fuel consumption of 45-50 m.p.g. are claimed; and the price is £475 ex works, increased to £713 17s by the addition of British purchase tax.
