Successful sports cars have a long life and the little Spitfire is entering its 13th year, but increased engine power, redesigned rear suspension, wider rear track, re-styling of the bodywork and many other improvements have maintained the interest and kept it selling well in export markets. It can befitted with Laycock de Normanville overdrive acting on third and top, giving six forward speeds.
