Swallow Doretti two-seater Sports was introduced by the Swallow Coachbuilding Co. (1935) Ltd of Walsall, Staffs, in March 1954. Based on mechanical components of the Triumph TR2, the car features double-skinned bodywork-steel inner shell and aluminium outer shell-with sleek lines and a well-equipped cockpit.
Doretti, which uses many of the same components as the Triumph
TR2, is less stark and more lavishly equipped than its cousin, and
forms a link between the sports car pure and simple and the high
performance touring car.
