Sunbeam-Talbot Ten was continued from 1947 in Saloon, Drophead Coupé and Tourer form, until mid-1948 when the entirely new 80 models appeared. 10973 Talbot and Sunbeam-Talbot 10s were built.
Sunbeam-Talbot 2-Litre, which was similar but somewhat larger than the Ten, was also continued from 1947 and superseded in June by the new 90. The Tourer versions were end of prod.. 1306 examples were made.
The 80 and 90 were introduced in July 1948 as replacements for the 10 and 2-Litre respectively. The 80 is powered by an overhead valve 1185cc four cylinder engine derived from the Ten's engine, developing 47bhp at 4800rpm. The 90 have an OHV 1944cc four derived from the 2-Litre's powerplant, developing 64bhp at 4100rpm. The chassis is based on that of the 2 Litre. Both have crude cart spring suspension all round, column change box, and twin leading shoe brakes. Sporting four door body have curved windscreen and rear wheel spats, well appointed.The saloon shells are made by British Light Steel Pressings, while the Coupé is finished and trimmed by Thrupp & Maberly.
