Seat is the largest automobile factory in Spain. It was founded in the early fifties as a state enterprise with Fiat as a licensor having 25% shares. Since 1967 the Italians bought the majority shares. The Seat builts the Fiat models: 600 D, 850, 850 Special, the 850 Coupe and the 124 with some modifications.Specific Seat models are the four-door 850 and the new 1430, with the body, the engine and the chassis of the Fiat 124 Special, but the outer and inner appearance of the Fiat 125 Special. The 1500 saloon and station wagon is similar to the old Fiat 1500. This latter model has recently been updated with four headlights and optional Mercedes or Perkins diesel engines under the bonnet.
