Rover 100 Saloon continue unchanged, but in common with the 80 model, now designated the Mk IV. Powered by a six-cylinder, 2625-cc, 104-bhp engine, this model have the bodyshell used on the earlier '90' which was discontinued in 1959.

In 1961, the diesel engine was bored out from 2.052cc to 2.286cc. Although the change in diesel option was the only significant change, the Series II was renumbered as IIA.
