ROVER 3500 £4,750
Acclaimed as the best British car for years, the 3500 has the light alloy V8 engine and a new five-speed gearbox with geared up top for quiet, economical motorway cruising. Centralised locking for doors and hatchback, fog rear lamps, warning of bulb failure for side, tail and stop lamps, red warning lamps in doors are some features. Zinc-coated panels and forced sill ventilation help combat corrosion.

RANGE ROVER £5,690
The car that has become a cult, combining magnificent cross-country performance with fast, comfortable main road capabilities. Power steering is optional. A rugged steel chassis and body frame with aluminium body panels for lightness and a light alloy V8 engine ensure strength and high performance. Permanent four-wheel drive, and long-travel coil springs with automatic levelling smooth out the most difficult terrain.
