Beside the South Africa General Motors now had a Ranger brand follow in Switzerland and Belgium too. However, while the Ranger in South Africa is equipped with Chevrolet engines, the Swiss models has the Opel Rekord 1900 S, the Commodore and the Commodore GS units, with a Vauxhall radiator grille with double headlights. The purpose of the exercise is to provide the Vauxhall dealers with some better salable models than those of their own brand.
