The second largest Indian automobile factory. The Padmini is the once highly esteemed Fiat 1100 D from 1963-65. Premier was able to increase production from 13,630 in 1975 to 14,973 1976, but had lost leading position among Indian manufacturers to Hindustan.
Four-door saloon only. The native model Padmini has the 1.1 liter engine with 40 hp, the export version President the same engine with 36 hp (normal fuel) or 43 hp (super).
