The 404 Injection model is no longer offered. All petrol models are now fitted with front disc brakes. A new door interior panels introduced.
The 504 was Voted European Car of the Year, praised for its styling, quality, chassis, ride, visibility, strong engine and refinement.
The 504 coupé and cabriolet were introduced at the Salon de Geneva in March powered by the same fuel-injected engine used in the saloon.
The new Peugeot 304 was introduced to the public at the Paris Motor Show in September. It is essentially a 204 with a larger engine, a restyled front and back end giving a substantially increased luggage space. The 304 is powered by an all alloy SOHC four-cylinder 1288 cc 75 bhp petrol engine (XL3).
