Pente 1946

Hungary

The Pente is designed by engineer János Pentelényi, an employee of the Weiss Manfréd Steel Works. The main features of the Pente are light weight, simple construction, and low manufacturing cost. The car is powered by a two-stroke, two-cylinder, 500-cc engine producing 15 hp at 3600 rpm, located ahead of the rear axle. The turbo fan built into the flywheel sucks air from the front via a chassis tunnel. The car' weights only 400 kg and the wheelbase is 2.0m.
The project was aproved by the management in May, and by December, the first Pente 500 was up and running.
