Prototyp F-88 to przede wszystkim wprawka stylizacyjna. Zwraca uwagę deska rozdzielcza przypominająca kokpit samolotu. Specjalnie ukształtowane kołpaki poprawiają chłodzenie hamulców. Do napędu służy 250 konny silnik 325 cu. in. połączony z przekładnią Hydra-matic.
Drugi prototyp, Cutlass wyposażony jest w radiotelefon umieszczony między przednimi siedzeniami a tylną szybę osłania "venetian blind" - regulowana żaluzja.

With the new Oldsmobile Air Conditioning System, your 1954 Oldsmobile is always cool, clean and comfortable! In every respect, it is a complete air conditioning system. The compact refrigeration unit is tucked away on the trunk ledge; the condenser is located in front of the radiator; the rotary compressor, under the hood. Two flat sleeves, covered
with headlining, extend length of car above windows. Four sets of louvers in sleeves expel air evenly into car. To provide extra currents of air for individual needs, four manually adjusted air jets are located in interior corners. Two new streamlined air scoops in rear fenders and wider cooling system radiator core add even greater cooling capacity in 1954.

Oldsmobile F-88, the gold-tone dream machine is sharing the 102-inch wheelbase and fiberglass body of the Corvette. Styling cues like bullet-shaped taillights and open mouth grille/bumper combination mimick those featured on the full-size production Olds. Unique components on the F-88 include vertical exhaust outlets and plastic bubbles over the headlights. Unlike the 1954 Corvette that come with a 6-cylinder engine, the Olds F-88 have a 250 horsepower, 324 cubic inch Rocket V-8 shoehorned into the engine compartment. Highlighting the 2-passenger cockpit is a gearshift between seats, vertical instrument panel with chronometer and tachometer.
