MG MIDGET £1,926
In its long career first as an Austin Healey, then as an MG, this lively little sports car has had several engines and it now shares the same pushrod four-cylinder as the Triumph Spitfire but the power announced is lower (so is the price). Winding windows and folding top cope with bad weather and there is a tonneau cover for when the car is parked with top down.

MG MGB GT £3,060
Now that the V8 has been withdrawn the four-cylinder continues alone with many changes including smaller wheel, with lower geared steering, new instrument panel with electric clock and reminder lights for handbrake and seat belts. The overdrive switch is now on the gear lever. Wipers have a flick wipe facility, suspension is improved and halogen headlamps give better night vision. Seats have striking striped upholstery and head restraints.
