3500 GT - Geneva

The 3500 GT was first presented in March at the Geneva Motor Show. Two prototypes were displayed: one by Allemano, and one by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan. Alfieri modified the competition six cylinder engine from the Tipo 350S sports racer for road use and incorporated some major components from leading European manufactures. ZF (Zahnradfabrik of Friedrichshafen) gearbox, Borg and Beck clutch, the rear differential by Salisbury, front and rear suspension components from Alford Alder.
Frua also produced a Spyder prototype on an early 3500GT chassis.
Maserati ceased all motorsport activities only supporting private entries.
