Jaguar 3.4-Litre Saloon, introduced in January 1957, is similar in appearance to the existing 2.4 model but have a wider radiator grille (which was later to appear on the 2.4 also) and cut-away rear wheel covers The twin-carburettor six-cylinder 3442-cc overhead camshaft engine develop 210 bhp at 5500 rpm. Bore and stroke are 83 x 106 mm. Twin exhaust tail pipes distinguished the 3.4 from the smaller-engined model at the rear. Overdrive or automatic transmission are available at extra cost. The car has a maximum speed of 120 mph and a fuel consumption range of 18-27 mpg. Dunlop disc brakes and wire spoke wheels are offered as optional extras from October.
Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupé appeared in May 1957. Wider and roomier bodied than the preceding XK140 (1954-57) and XK120 (1948-54) this even more powerful model feature a wider radiator grille with more slats, a one-piece curved windscreen, a straightened wing line, revised instrumentation, a wider interior and higher door handles. Servo-assisted disc brakes are optionally available. The twin OHC 3.4-litre (83 x 106 mm) engine produce 210 bhp at 5500 rpm. The XK150 is available also as a Fixed-Head Coupé.
Jaguar Mark Vlll Saloon succeed the Mark VIIM, which it resembled apart from the following features : one-piece windscreen, two-tone paint finish divided by chrome beading, radiator grille with wider chrome surround and twin exhausts. The 3.4-litre engine has a new cylinder head, induction system and carburettors. The Mark VIIM continue to be available to special order.
Jaguar XK SS (Super Sports) is a race-bred fully road-equipped version of the highly successful D-type. Its life span is shortened as a result of a fire that destroyed part of the Jaguar factory and with it twelve completed cars and all the jigs and tools. Of the small number produced, most were exported.

XK-SS

XK- "SS"
Potent New Super Sports Jaguar for Touring or Racing.

DEVELOPED from the successful D-type racing sports car, a new 2-seater Jaguar has made its appearance in response to demand from America for a car combining racing performance with equipment and weather protection of touring-car standard. The new Jaguar, to be called the XK"SS" should meet this demand in a most potent and satisfying manner, for it follows the mechanical specification of the 3I-litre Le Mans cars in all essentials, yet has a full-width curved windscreen, folding hood, luggage grid and bumpers. The cockpit is properly trimmed, has well-upholstered seats and a full "touring" range of instruments. Features retained from the D-type include the large tail fuel tank, drilled lightweight steering wheel, and Dunlop disc brakes and light-alloy disc wheels with knock-off hubs. The car is initially for export only, and first deliveries will be made in February to the U.S.A., where the price is $6.900. The XK"SS" is an addition to the Jaguar range and will not supplant any existing models.
