100.000 Holden FX.

W maju wyprodukowano 100.000 Holdena. Australijski oddział General Motors uzyskał samodzielność w projektowaniu nowych modeli. Po wyprodukowaniu 120,4 tys. egzemplarzy, w październiku, FX-a zastąpiono zmodernizowanym modelem FJ. Będzie on oferowany w trzech wersjach: Standard, Business i Special Sedan z większym silnikiem.

In July the Holden Business Sedan, essentially a taxi version of the 48-215, was added to the range and the suspension was revised.
Production of both the utility and sedan continued with minor changes until 1953, when they were replaced by the facelifted FJ model, introducing a third panel van body style.

The FJ is the first major change to the Holden since its 1948 introduction. A new horizontally slatted grille dominate the front-end of the FJ, which received various other trim and minor mechanical revisions. The FJ sedan, in Standard, Business and Special trim levels, and a Coupé utility were announced in October 1953 and were followed by a Panel van derivative in December.
