GSM, the only state-owned car brand in South Africa, builds this plastic coupe with English 1.7-litre Ford engine. A technical feature of the car are rubber elements for suspension of the front wheels.
Ford has the largest share of the South African car market. Second is General Motors, then the Volkswagen and British Motor Corporation. The Volkswagen factory has the VW 1200 and the VW 1500 S mounted there. In addition to the brands mentioned, cars from Chrysler, Volvo and Peugeot are assembled in South Africa, and the Japanese company Toyota intends to build not only trucks but also passenger cars in the country.
