GAZ M 1
Podstawowym modelem zakładów GAZ (Gorkowskij Awtomobilnyj Zawod imia Mołotowa) jest M 1, którego pochodną jest
pick-up M 415, oraz nowy model 11-73 z silnikiem 6-cylindrowym. Powstały też prototypy pick-upa 11-415 z tym silnikiem i 61-415 z napędem na 4 koła. Nowy silnik budowany jest na podstawie licencji amerykańskiego Dodge D5.
During 1940 GAZ was preparing production of the new model in three versions, to meet the interests of the army and the national economy: open-top "Phaeton" - GAZ-61-40, an enclosed Sedan - GAZ-61-73 and vans "pickup" - GAZ-61-415.

GL-1 (6 cyl, 3485 cm³, 100 KM) - prototyp

GL-1
GAZ GL-1 was upgraded: the car has received a 6-cylinder engine of the GAZ 11 with aluminum head, a new grille, closed body with an asymmetrical cap-fairing, aerodynamic wheel caps. Weight increased to 1100 kg. Engine power was increased to 100 hp through the use of two carburetors. Arkady Fedorovich Nikolaev set a speed record for the USSR at 161.87 km/h.
