From September all the Granada models are assembled in Germany. Escort RS Mexico and RS 2000 are also built in Germany as well as the Capri. The new Cortina Mk IV is almost identical to the German Taunus which was introduced there in January. The all new front wheel drive Fiesta will be assembled in Spain, Germany and in the UK. It is not available in Britain yet.

Ford ESCORT POPULAR from £1,599
An early "economy special" but not a stark austerity job, the Popular has a special carburetter and distributor which reduce maximum power and guarantee more economical operation. It has black epoxy finish for bumpers and badges,alternator, heater with illuminated controls and two-speed blower, two speed wipers and electric washer. Popular Plus has extra sound insulation, reversing lights, and radial ply tyres which help economy.
Ford RS 2000 £3,124
Transformed in appearance by its streamlined shock-absorbing polyurethane front, the RS 2000 is a road-going performance model with 1,993 c.c. o.h.c. engine. Front air dam and rear spoiler improve stability at high speeds. The four headlamps are Cibie halogen, the windscreen is laminated, front seats are reclining bucket type with head restraints. The heaviest Escort, but second fastest after the RS 1800 twin-cam rally special.
Ford CAPRI II from £2,000
Few cars offer such a wide choice of engines as the secondg eneration hatchback Capri, from the 1300 pushrod four, the overhead-cam 1600 and 2000 to the V6 3000. Equally varied are the equipment and trim options to match buyers' tastes, topped by the Ghia 2000 and 3000 which have alloy wheels, vinyl top, steel sun roof, luxurious interior trim and rear window wash/wipe.
Ford CORTINA from £1,950
Britain's best seller, redesigned with leaner lines, better vision, more efficient ventilation, better ride and road holding. 17 models, including three-door and five-door station wagons, with choice of four engines including a special economy 1600. Lower engine mounting and straight drive line cut noise and vibration. Sporty S replaces the GT, Ghia replaces the 2000E. New options include sun roof, alloy wheels, headlamp washers.
Ford GRANADA 2000L ESTATE £3,333
Most economical way to enjoy the space, comfort and finish of the Granada station wagon. For saloons, a special economy 2-litre engine is available which has a sonic idie carburetter to use a weak mixture for low-speed running, revised camshaft and ignition timing. Maximum power drops from 99 to 75 b.h.p. and the axle ratio is changed to reduce engine revs still further. Even so, Ford claim over 90 m.p. h. and 0-60 in 16 sec.
Ford GRANADA Ghia 3000S £3,601
Top model in the Ford range, with a 3-litre V6 engine, this luxuriously finished executive car has the higher front seats, re-positioned controls and revised rear suspension which have improved driving vision and road holding. Power steering, heated rear window, reversing lamps, hazard flashers, door mirror, digital clock and alloy wheels, a sliding and tilting sun roof and automatic transmission are all part of the package.
