Tegoroczne Vedette różnia sie zaledwie kilkoma szczegółami od modeli 1953. Dłuższe listwy ozdobne, inny ornament na klapie bagażnika i światełka odblaskowe umieszczone w tylnym zderzaku. Wzmocnione hamulce przednie i drobne modyfikacje osprzętu silnika.
Abeile straciła nieco ze swojego utylitarnego charakteru. Na ten rok otrzymała wlot powietrza z Vedette i bogatszy wybór kolorów lakieru.
Vendôme to nowy model oparty na Vedette. Zachowuje on to samo podwozie, ale napędzany jest amerykańskim silnikiem "Mistral" pochodzącym z Forda Crestline. Jednostka ta o pojemności skokowej 3,9 litra osiąga moc 93 KM i zapewnia doskonałe przyspieszenia i elastyczność. Jest to okupione dość wysokim zużyciem paliwa, które przy większej prędkości może sięgać 25 l/100 km. Ponadto cięższy silnik pogorszył nieco prowadzenie auta a hamulce ledwie dają sobie radę z jego wysokimi osiągami. Nadwozie ma inny wlot powietrza, ozdobne nakładki na progach, eleganckie wykończenia tylnych nadkoli, inny ornament na klapie bagażnika oraz dodatkowy wlot powietrza na masce silnika i większe kołpaki kół. Tylne lampy wyposażono w automatyczne światła cofania. Wnętrze jest bardzo eleganckie a wyposażenie adekwatne do ceny.
Luksusowy Comète nie zmienił się w stosunku do modelu ubiegłorocznego, zyskał za to jeszcze bardziej ekskluzywnego brata. Monte-Carlo został zaprezentowany w styczniu na salonie w Brukseli. Napędzany silnikiem Vendôme o podwyższonym stopniu sprężania, osiągającym moc 105 KM. Seryjnie wyposażone w czteroprzekładniową, całkowicie synchronizowaną skrzynkę biegów czteroosobowe coupé rozpędza się do 150 km/godz. Zewnętrznie odróżnia się inna kratką wlotu powietrza, dodatkowym przetłoczeniem na masce i szprychowymi kołami. Dostępne są cztery kolory lakieru oraz pięć kombinacji dwubarwnych. Wnętrze jest bardzo starannie wykończone dwukolorową, skórzaną tapicerką, korespondującą z kolorem lakieru. Modelem tym Ford miał nadzieję trafić na ekskluzywny rynek zajęty przez Delahaye, Talbota i Salmsona. Zamiast tego odebrał on klientów... Comète, którego sprzedaż drastycznie spadła w tym roku.

Przejęcie przez Simcę. Negocjacje trwały od początku lipca. Decyzję o fuzji ogłoszono 30 listopada. Nowe modele Vedette zaprezentowane w październiku w Paryżu na stoisku Forda mają w przyszłym roku ukazać się pod marką Simca. Kontynuowana ma być produkcja Monte-Carlo i Abeille.

Vendôme is a new model based on the Vedette. It retains the same chassis, but is powered by an American engine "Mistral" coming from Ford Crestline. This unit with a displacement of 3.9 litres delivers an output of 93 hp and provides excellent acceleration and flexibility. It is paid for with relatively high fuel consumption, which at higher speeds can reach 25 l / 100 km. Furthermore the heavier engine affected handling and the brakes can barely cope with the high performance. The body has a different grille, decorative trims on door sills, elegant finish of the rear wheel arches, different ornament on the tailgate and an additional air intake on the hood and larger hub caps. The rear lamps are equipped with automatic reversing light. The interior is very elegant and the equipment is adequate for the price. 
Luxury Comète has not changed in relation to the last year's model but he gained even more exclusive brother. The Monte-Carlo was presented in January at the salon in Brussels. Powered by the Vendôme engine with a higher compression ratio that increased the power to 105 b.h.p. Equipped as standard with four-speed, fully synchronized gearbox the four-seat coupé accelerates to 150 km / h. Externally it has a different grille, additional scoop on the bonnet and spoked wheels. There are four colours of paint and five two-colour combinations. The interior is very carefully finished in two-tone leather upholstery, corresponding with the colour of the body. With this model Ford had hoped to hit the market occupied by Delahaye, Talbot and Salmson. Instead, he picked up customers of... the Comète, whose sales plummeted this year.

The acquisition by Simca. The negotiations began at the beginning of July. The decision on the merger was announced on 30 November. New models Vedette presented in October in Paris on the Ford stand next year will appear under the brand Simca. The production of the Monte-Carlo and Abeille will be continued.
