Brazil

While VW and Chevrolet strongly increasing production figures the Brazilian Ford, sales are declining. Focus in the program is now the best selling Corcel. This model was developed by Willys in collaboration with Renault. it has a 1.3 litre engine, front-wheel drive and remarkable similarities with Renault 12. The Aero-Willys built since 1962 will certainly soon be replaced by a more modern model, but it still enjoys good reputation for comfort and robustness.
In 1971 two new Corcel models appeared, with the L (for "Luxo") and the more powerful GT version added. The GT benefits from a twin-barrel carburettor ("1300-C") and offers 80 hp reaching 141 km/h rather than the 135 km/h of the regular versions.
