YOU RIDE SILENT, SOLID AND SECURE

. . . and here are some reasons why:

  • New Ram-type system for superior body ventilation
  • Forward-opening hood has new torsion bar hinge for easier, counterbalanced action with release control inside car for security
  • New larger wrap-around windshield with swept-back pillars for greater visibility
  • Five roof cross braces welded to box section rails for a solid top having high strenght and rigidity
  • Clear-vision safety glass throughout with much greater area for full-circle visibility
  • Front seat safety anchorage locks the tracks to chassis frame. Deep, full-width seat adjusts 5” to 11 positionins and is confort-contoured for spacious support and relaxed seating posture
  • Thick, resilient foam padding in front seat is standatd in all models for luxurious, easy-chair riding comfort
  • Silent-Grip body mounts to soak up road shock and noise
  • Larger rocker panels and stronger double-ribbed floor pan with five sturdy cross members welded to bottom for increased rigidity
  • Ford's husky frame bows out a full foot wider midway so passengers ride within safety of heavy frame side rails
  • Recessed full-width glass in back window of Galaxie and larger wrap-around glass in back window of other models give better rear visibility and a straight-through look
  • New torsion bar hinging of the high-lift deck lid provides better counterbalancing, more trunk capacity (nearly 34 cu.ft. with spare). Broad, low-level entrance makes for easy loading, and rubber seals and rain trough make trunk waterproof
  • Domed, ribbed wheelhousing supply solid foundation for roof rails, back panel and deck lid hinges
  • The best insulation in Ford's field by far includes a half inch of fibrous sound-absorption material in the entire roof; one inch of glass fibre, felt and finish board on the dash

Levacar

Ford La Tosca

Ford La Tosca

Ford Volante can use three fan motors to levitate from a parking place and take to the air.

Ford Levacar Mach I
The Levacar was designed as an one man flying car and is meant to be able to do 350 km/h. It was unveiled in the Ford Rotunda at Ford HQ in 1959. The vehicle was tethered to an arm so it could glide around, powered by air jets, several inches above its circular glass track. The prototype lacked breaks.
