The engine and chassis of the CA 774 prototype are basically the same as on the CA-770, but the body is completely redesigned. The whole vehicle structure is load-bearing (no girders). At the beginning of the design work, during the turmoil of the Cultural Revolution, the original design section was reorganized after being disbanded, and there was no special model sculpture site for the design and styling work. Therefore, a temporary site was specially opened in the body shop. Due to the abnormal state at the time, all drawings and technical documents were not formal.
