South Africa

In the summer of 1968, the South African subsidiary of General Motors started to build the Ranger. It has slightly modified body and the chassis of the Opel Rekord, but is equipped with factory-own 2.2 or 2.5-litre four-cylinder engines. The Chevrolet Kommando and the new luxury sedan Chevrolet Constantia are also produced there exclusively for the South African market.
