XP-300

XP-300 at Chicago Motor Show

XP-300, został zaprojektowany i zbudowany wspólnie przez Charlesa Chayne i Neda Nicklesa (ostatni z nich był głównym styList Buicka, to on w latach czterdziestych wymyślił nadwozie hardtop - bez słupków w drzwiach). Auto ma rozstaw osi 116 cali (295 cm) i mierzy 192,5 cala długości (489 cm), 53.4 cala do górnej linii przedniej szyby (136 cm). Rama nośna jest stalową konstrukcją typu pudełkowego z przykręcanym nadwoziem. Nadwozie zostało zrobione z aluminiowych paneli, co pozwoliło zmniejszyć wagę samochodu do 3125 funtów. Silnik widlasty jest wykonany z aluminium o pojemności 216 cali sześciennych, co daje moc rzędu aż 315 KM!

The XP-300 features an aluminum body, wraparound windshield, bumper/concave grille combo. Using an experimental 330 horsepower, 215 cubic inch aluminum V-8, the XP-300’s engine is capable of operating on gasoline or methanol fuel. Flowing down the trunk lid has a chrome trimmed center fin that is capped at the rear with a jet-like exhaust containing a backup light.
